The University of Bath is committed to embedding sustainability across its curricula. ‘Citizenship and sustainability’ is a core curriculum principle, through which we strive to support students to develop a lifelong sense of social responsibility, citizenship and sustainable activity which they can draw upon throughout their time in Bath and beyond.

Our Guidance section contains a range of case studies from across the University where staff and students have embedded sustainability into learning and assessment.
Toolkit
Researchers at Bath have developed an Education for Sustainable Development Toolkit (Bath login required) to support sustainability teaching provision at the university. The toolkit includes resources such as: a tool to audit sustainability education within the curriculum; short, impactful videos explaining core sustainability competencies such as ‘systems thinking’; subject-specific sustainability education materials.
Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs)
Our innovative research and applied learning projects that enable inter-disciplinary, multi-level teams of students to work with a member of academic staff on long-term real-world projects, often focused on sustainability themes.
