Introduction to FeedbackFruits

What is FeedbackFruits?

FeedbackFruits is an assessment and feedback tool suite that provides the ability to build engaging assessment and learning activities in Moodle. FeedbackFruits is integrated with Moodle and can be used to build formative or summative Assignments – for individual or group submissions, or for peer assessment or group member review. FeedbackFruits can utilise Moodle groups and store grades in the Moodle gradebook. In total there are 16 tools to try.

Pilot

FeedbackFruits is currently in a pilot review with its entire suite of tools available to all academic courses in Moodle at the University of Bath. The pilot phase has been extendedand is now running from Summer 2024 – Summer 2025. For questions or more information about this pilot, please contact Yvonne Moore (ym394@bath.ac.uk).

FeedbackFruits Use cases

University of Bath staff have used FeedbackFruits in the following ways.

• Peer review – allowing PGT students to submit draft coursework for feedback by their peers before moving onto final submission
• Group member review – allowing UG students, following a group project, to review their teammates’ perfomance during the task
• Peer review – allowing UG students to review their peers against a pre-defined rubric to support understanding of assessment criteria
• Skills review – allowing multiple staff to assess student presentations in one activity
• Assignment review – managing submissions and feedback dialogue for a large cohort
• Peer review – managing peer review submissions within mulitple cohorts in one Moodle space
