PedR Network – Teaching Conversations with Cake: You Had To Be There: The Role of Stagecraft in Lecturing

The Pedagogical Research (PedR) Group aims to promote, support and develop pedagogical research activity across the University. The benefits of a well-established PedR community include the development and embedding of an evidence informed approach to teaching and learning practice and an enhanced reputation for high quality scholarly activity.

Join us for the “Conversations with Cake” session’s. This session will focus on You Had To Be There: The Role of Stagecraft in Lecturing – Matthew Alford, Department of PoLIS.

We all have aspects of our teaching that make our classes come alive. But how can we identify, share, and replicate them for best practice? This workshop draws on the pedagogy of Tony Allen, the founder of the 1970s alternative comedy movement, to explore the way to revive the lecture for the A.I era.

Refreshments and cakes will be available, please bring your own cups and you are welcome to bring lunch.
