Pedagogical Research Network – Teaching Conversations with Cake: Session 2

The Pedagogical Research (PedR) Group aims to promote, support and develop pedagogical research activity across the University. The benefits of a well-established PedR community include the development and embedding of an evidence informed approach to teaching and learning practice and an enhanced reputation for high quality scholarly activity.

Join us for the refreshed “Conversations with Cake” session’s. This session will focus on The use of extended case studies in teaching. Session Led by Victoria Willis, School of Management

Unlike traditional case studies that might be short and focused on a single event or decision, extended case studies follow a subject or issue over a longer period, often a whole semester. This approach allows for a more comprehensive exploration of complex and inter-related issues.

Victoria will share insights on the use of extended case studies in teaching, drawing particularly on findings from key research papers. She will also be sharing how she is integrating an extended case study into her finance course.

Do come along and share your own experience and join the discussion on the practical aspects of using extended case studies in teaching, including benefits, challenges, and evaluation of effectiveness.
