GenAI Teaching and Learning Labs: 1. ‘Is it OK to use GenAI as a Teacher?’

GenAI Teaching and Learning Labs offer teaching staff a practical, multidisciplinary space to explore the pedagogic opportunities and challenges presented by Generative AI. Facilitated by the Centre for Teaching and Learning, the focus will be on experimentation and ideas sharing. We are keen to foster new approaches and to understand the practices and attitudes that already exist across the university. Please feel welcome to attend regardless of the extent of your previous engagement with GenAI. The sessions will be informal and collaborative.

Our first lab addresses a common concern: ‘Is it OK to use GenAI as a teacher?’

·      We often reflect on student-usage, but what constitutes good GenAI practice for teachers?

·      Are there areas of teaching that should remain free from automation?

·      How do we communicate to students how their teaching is shaped by GenAI?

The first lab will also be an opportunity for teaching staff to suggest areas they would like to see covered in the future.

If you are interested please sign up to our second lab ‘GenAI as Teaching Assistant’

Please bring your own refreshments
