Pedagogical Research Network – Ethics for publication and evidence for promotion
The Pedagogical Research (PedR) Group aims to promote, support and develop pedagogical research activity across the University. The benefits of a well-established PedR community include the development and embedding of an evidence informed approach to teaching and learning practice and an enhanced reputation for high quality scholarly activity.
Our next PedR meeting will share experiences of ethics planning and how early consideration of ethics for your pedagogic research will help you get published. Nuno Reis will share his experiences of undertaking ethical clearance as part of his Active Learning research, and Richard Joiner will discuss his current ethical considerations around researching engagement with recorded lectures.
There is a clearly defined promotion route for teaching and learning and CLT would like to create a blog post with some tips and advice about developing your career and collecting evidence for promotion via the teaching and learning route. We will discuss this during the meeting and invite colleagues to contribute ideas (and questions) for the development of a blog which can be used to support colleagues in applying for promotion.
As this will be our Christmas PedR meeting please feel free to join with your own drinks and mince pies (Christmas jumpers optional!).
