Probationers: Core session, mandatory
Highly recommended for: staff who teach
The purpose of this session is to provide participants with an opportunity to discuss issues pertinent to teaching both small and large groups of students in face to face and online contexts. We will invite colleagues to share their experiences with teaching a variety of cohort sizes and offer participants their ‘top tips’ from practice, which they can take away and apply in their imminent teaching situations.
Learning Outcomes
- To understand the opportunities and challenges presented by different teaching groups of different sizes.
- To understand the pedagogy behind different teaching strategies.
- To gain practical examples that you can adapt and use in your teaching practice to increase engagement
- To explore good practice examples from colleagues across the university
Joining instructions and any pre course work will be sent out one week before delivery of the session. All of these sessions (017) will be delivered online.
Please note: for those not on probation, a record of attendance will be uploaded to iTrent for staff development purposes. Please indicate in the ‘Specific Requirements’ box when booking if you do NOT wish for your attendance to be uploaded to iTrent.
