Target Audience: Mandatory and only available to Lecturers on academic probation.
This session will apply appropriate learning theories in the context of the Curriculum Principles at Bath, enabling participants to contextualise learning theories to their teaching practice in the physical and online environments. Within the session examples such as cognitive-load, scaffolding, blended and flipped learning theories will be discussed, and conversations about how to recognise when teaching is effective.
1. Discuss and evaluate the application of common learning theories.
2. Recognise the application of learning theory to the University Blended Learning context.
3. Reflect on measures for evaluating the effectiveness of our teaching.
There is no preparatory work and relevant associated resources can be found in the Library Reading List on Moodle.
