In this interactive online workshop, we will discuss the purpose of assessment and the effect of marking criteria on students. We will look at potential threats to reliability and validity in assessment brief design, before discussing academic integrity and the rise of GenAI. We will explore authentic assessment as a potential solution to some of the problems facing HE education today.
After this session you will have:
1. Discuss the purpose of assessment.
2. Evaluate the effect of assessment and marking criteria weightings.
3. Identify methods for ensuring reliability and validity in assessment brief design.
4. Consider academic integrity within the assessment context at the University of Bath.
5. Identify how you might incorporate authentic assessment into your practice.
Any preparatory work will be advised a week before delivery with the joining instructions.
