Event Details
This session considers some fundamental aspects of contemporary HE and the role of a Lecturer within this context both in broader terms as well as at the University of Bath. The session addresses generic aspects of teaching such as teaching philosophy, as well as more particular elements of everyday practice in the form of preparation for teaching and sharing of some practical tips of experienced colleagues. How to provide evidence for A2, K2 and A4 of your HEA Fellowship application.
The format of the session is an interactive workshop that combines short lecture style presentations and thematic activities.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify some defining aspects of contemporary HE as relevant to your teaching practice.
- Define your teaching approach/ philosophy in basic terms.
- Identify and employ useful strategies to enhance your preparation for teaching.
- Gain awareness of effective teaching tools and techniques as related to early stages of your teaching practice.
Joining instructions and any pre-course work will be sent a week before delivery of the session.
