As part of its ongoing commitment to provide the University Community with feature-rich tools that are both robust and support the best learning and teaching experience, the University is planning to embark on an in-depth review of our centrally supported lecture capture system (Re:View).
Many things have changed in the ten years since these services were first introduced at Bath. Not only have these types of tools matured quite considerably during this time, but our own understanding of them and the way in which we use them to support learning and teaching has also evolved along the way.
Given the current focus on Curriculum Transformation, and taking into account changing student expectations, it is an opportune moment to reflect on our current toolset and approach. We are also required to review our current lecture capture system (Re:View) before the Summer, and this will involve a formal tendering process.
We are keen to ensure that user needs are at the heart of this review, this event will give staff and students will have the opportunity to feed into the process.
Whilst the aim of the review is ultimately to consider the extent to which these products meet our institutional needs, and whether these needs might be better met by other solutions, the first step for those involved in the process will be to gain a clearer understanding of what our institutional requirements are likely to be as we look to the future.
