This session is suitable for staff who use the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment to support learning and teaching activities and assessment (including teaching staff and professional services)
It will be useful for staff who:
- Would like a guided introduction to key features and navigation in Moodle
- Are new to using Moodle for learning and teaching or to support assessment, and would like an overview of the platform
- Have used Moodle (or other VLEs) and would like to refresher
After the session, you will be able to
- Choose how to manage your profile and preferences
- Differentiate between Moodle roles, and navigate to a Student view
- Describe enrolment methods for staff and students
- Identify and use Moodle tools for digital accessibility
- Control the visibility of content on your Moodle page
- Name the key elements of the Moodle interface and describe their purpose (topics, resources, activities, assessment, announcements forum)
- Use the Essential Unit Information block and General topic to provide key information
- Use basic editing functions and features for copying content
- Recall where to get help with Moodle
A record of attendance will be uploaded to iTrent for staff development purposes. Please indicate in the ‘Specific Requirement’ box when booking if you do NOT wish for your attendance to be uploaded to iTrent.
