James Grant, Digital Data & Technology Group, shares his experiences of the ‘Teaching to code and coding to teach’ project, and outcomes so far. The project, which is led by James and involves participants from across the University, was funded by the Teaching Development Fund in 2018/19.
The project aims to bring together a community of lecturers and researchers across the University with an interest in teaching programming, creating a melting pot for discussion, sharing teaching approaches, experience, tools and methodologies related to programming and digital methods.
In his talk, James will explore the programming teaching for postgraduates (teaching to code) and introduce the work being carried out in the Department of Physics using Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and enhancing learning (coding to teach).
After the talk, there will an opportunity for Q & A.
