Probationers: Option
Highly recommended for: All staff who work with different stakeholders; researchers taking a step-up into independence

As you develop your academic career and reputation, you will need to work with key stakeholders who may be able to significantly influence your success and reputation as well as connect you to other strategic stakeholders.

Your stakeholders (whether they are your manager or not) may have particular expectations or demands of you.

You need to be confident and manage their expectations.

Imposter Syndrome is an important phenomenon especially amongst high achievers. When harnessed correctly, it can be very beneficial whereas unchecked it can be debilitating and potentially harmful to your academic career.

In this session we will look at the key areas of developing and conveying confidence, managing upwards as well as staying calm under pressure.
