Event Details

Making the most of your time as a postdoctoral researcher requires self-leadership and being strategic if you want to gain the experience and skills required to become an independent researcher.  It can also be a time of overwhelming options and demands on your time.

This workshop will give you an opportunity to stop and reflect on what you want and whether you are doing the right things during your postdoc to get what you want and make progress.

By the end of this reflective and interactive workshop, you will have:

  • Expressed ideas about what you want from your own career
  • Reviewed examples of what success (skills & experience) as an independent researcher looks like
  • Some ideas for very practical ways to use your time to develop:
    • your research niche
    • reputation and visibility
    • collaborations
    • funding strategy

Please note we cannot give advice on subject specific funding or fellowship applications.
