Event Details
The Web of Science is an abstract and citation database indexing thousands of high-quality journals in all subject areas (particularly strong across the sciences). Its coverage also includes datasets, patents, conference papers and zoological reference information. This workshop will provide a detailed overview of Web of science’s content and functionality, and advice on how best to search for literature on your topic. There will be opportunities for hands-on practice.
After attending this workshop, you will be able to:
- Perform a literature search more effectively.
- Save references and searches.
- Set up email alerts in order to maintain current awareness in your subject area.
- Understand article and journal citation scores (to help you identify “high impact” articles and journals).
