SCOPUS is an abstract and citation database indexing over 20,000 peer reviewed journals from all subject areas (with links to many full text articles). Its coverage also includes conference papers, trade press, patents and books. This workshop will provide a detailed overview of Scopus’s content and functionality, and advice on how best to search for literature on your topic. There will be opportunities for hands-on practice.
After attending this workshop, you will be able to:
- Perform effective literature searches in SCOPUS.
- Save references and searches.
- Set up email alerts in order to maintain current awareness in your subject area.
- Understand article and journal citation scores (to help you identify “high impact” articles and journals).
