Event Details

Conversation with Cake is an informal, monthly get together for academics and related staff who are interested in discussing topics relevant to learning and teaching at the University. Each month we have a paper for discussion that attendees are encouraged to read at least some of before attending, but we still welcome those that haven’t had the time to do so. As this meeting will be in person, tea, coffee and cake are provided (and there will also be a form of baked goods!)

In May we will be discussing;

Caitlin M. Cunningham & Theresa L. White (2022) What are they trying to tell me? Large-scale viability of the Start, Stop, Continue teaching evaluation method, Innovations in Education and Teaching International, 59:1, 60-69, DOI: 10.1080/14703297.2020.1810099

Is start stop continue still useful? What are you thoughts on machine analysis of free text comments? How does the use of the data impact the evaluation method?
