CLT Lunchtime Hub – aligning student and staff approaches to feedback literacy

Weds 17 March: 13:15 – 14:00 (online, via Teams)

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Karen Angus-Cole (Education), Prof John Chew (Chemical Engineering) and Dr Robert Eaton (CLT) to our next CLT Lunchtime Hub to talk about their ‘Understand, Engage, Act’ (UEA) project, funded by the Teaching Development Fund (TDF) in 2019/20. Their presentation will be followed by an opportunity for Q & A.

The ‘Understand, Engage, Act’ (UEA) project aims to bring students and staff together to uncover differences in their experiences and expectations of assessment feedback. The focus is specifically on developing feedback literacy, acknowledging that students need first to understand the feedback provided by teachers before they can engage with and act on it. The project further aims to:

  • facilitate the co-creation of practical tools and strategies that will both support teachers to provide feedback in ways that students can understand, and support students to engage with and act upon it; and
  • evaluate the extent to which a shared understanding of feedback literacy supports better engagement with, and acting upon, feedback.

This session will run online via Teams – the link will be emailed to you prior to the event.

We do hope you can join us!
