Join us for a series of fast-paced five-minute lightning talks where staff share their success stories of moving their teaching online. The talks will be followed by a Q&A session.
Speakers are:
- James Grant, Digital, Data & Technology Group (DD&T) – Remote teaching RSS workshops: breakout the narrator. A brief overview of how James approached remote teaching by focusing on the narrator
- Johnpaul Woodhead, Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Katherine Davis, Widening Access Outreach Officer
- Steve Cayzer, Department of Mechanical Engineering – Using Private Channels in MS Teams to promote social connectivity and peer learning. How do you get rich social learning happening online? I don’t promise to have all the answers, but I will share with you how I have used the MS Teams platform to get students to interact, tackling meaningful problems during a synchronous online class. I will also point out some tips and tricks I learnt along the way, including some mistakes and ‘gotchas’.
