Probationers: Choice for those with teaching and research contracts
Highly recommended for: Anyone doctoral supervisors
This session is designed to help you think deeply about an issue you have encountered in doctoral supervision with the aim of getting peer support in finding a way forward. You will work in a group to address any challenging or complex issues. The session will be structured to allow some of you to share an issue in depth, and explore and resolve this issue using sharing, reflection, and open honest feedback.
If you are a probationer, this session should only be attended after you have attended CORE 009 and have supervisory responsibilities. Additionally, this session will be most valuable when you have encountered an issue you feel it would be worthwhile to get support with. The issue can be anything from recruitment to completion, but it is probably best to book once you have an issue to talk about.
Joining instructions and any pre course work will be sent out one week before delivery of the session.
Please note: for those not on probation, a record of attendance will be uploaded to iTrent for staff development purposes. Please indicate in the ‘Specific Requirements’ box when booking if you do NOT wish for your attendance to be uploaded to iTrent.
