Target Audience
Probationers: Choice Session for those on a contract of more than 18 months, (priority will be offered to probationers, if the session proves very popular).
Highly recommended for: anyone marking and feeding back to students
Of interest to: anyone who marks and gives feedback
Academics are under increasing pressure to provide timely feedback for cohorts which keep growing in size. In addition, there is also pressure to embed more formative feedback opportunities for learners and to produce individualised feedback which students can then act on.
This session will provide an opportunity for colleagues to explore a range of approaches to help them produce feedback and marking which is both impactful and personalised, in a way that is practical and sustainable for staff.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session you will be able to:
- Employ a range of strategies to produce personalised feedback for large cohorts of students in a way that is sustainable for staff.
- Provide students with feedback which they can act on and use to develop their learning.
- Explore how a course-wide approach to marking can reduce workload for staff and achieve greater clarity and consistency for students.
Joining instructions and any pre course work will be sent out one week before delivery of the session.
Please note: for those not on probation, a record of attendance will be uploaded to iTrent for staff development purposes. Please indicate in the ‘Specific Requirements’ box when booking if you do NOT wish for your attendance to be uploaded to iTrent.
