Event Details

Probationers: Choice Session for those on a Research and Teaching contract, but would be useful for people looking to start applying for grants and finding new funding sources (priority will be offered to probationers, if the session proves very popular).
Highly recommended for: experienced postdocs wanting to understand the funding landscape.

This session is designed for those who have never written a grant before and are not sure where to start. It will give an overview the funding landscape and give hints and tips of how to find the best funding streams and where you can get further support.

Activities will include a presentation about how Research and Innovation Services can support you at Bath and the wider funding landscape. We will provide tips for identifying top funders and exploring Research Professional. Group discussions will be used to share current knowledge and experiences. We will introduce research funding plan development.

Please choose this session if you have not written a grant before. You may also find it useful if you have written a grant, but are not sure about the funding landscape or the support available at Bath. In either case, take this session as soon as possible, as it introduces you to the grant options.

Joining instructions and any pre course work will be sent out one week before delivery of the session.

Please note: for those not on probation, a record of attendance will be uploaded to iTrent for staff development purposes. Please indicate in the ‘Specific Requirements’ box when booking if you do NOT wish for your attendance to be uploaded to iTrent.

This course is run by Research Grant Development.
