Event Details
A presentation and practice session on using Moodle advanced grading tools (including rubrics and marking guides which can be helpful methods for objective marking).
“Rubrics are an advanced grading method used for criteria-based assessment. The rubric consists of a set of criteria plotted against levels of achievement.
A numeric grade is assigned to each level. For each criterion, the assessor chooses the level they judge the work to have reached” (from the Moodle website)
A marking guide allows you to set up a form where you can enter a comment and a mark for each criterion (see more detail in the Moodle website)
This workshop will:
- introduce settings for advanced grading,
- show you how to set up a marking guide, and
- allow you to practice marking an assignment using a rubric
