This session aims to develop a shared understanding of how and why students plagiarise, the practical consequences, and how to educate students in practicing ethical scholarship.
We will cover the university-wide guidance for students, including the regulations, the Academic Integrity Training and Test (AITT), as well as the wider support available before, during, and after an ethical misstep.
Interactive discussions will focus on how to scaffold student learning and design assessment to prevent plagiarism, drawing on your own contexts.
Finally, you will have the opportunity to plan a sequence of activities and resources to embed into your course aimed at supporting your students to become ethical scholars and reduce your own workload around assessments.
